Piers Morgan Says Prince Harry 'Pathetic and Cowardly' for 'Constantly Abusing His Family'

Piers Morgan has taken aim at Prince Harry again on social media, accusing him of “constantly abusing” the royal family.

The Duke of Sussex got candid in his Apple TV docuseries with Oprah Winfrey, titled The Me You Can’t See.

In the series, he accused his family of responding with “total silence or total neglect” when he sought help over negative media coverage of his relationship with Meghan Markle.

British broadcaster Morgan launched a tirade against the Duke of Sussex on Twitter after a user slammed him over his “complete lack of understanding and empathy”.

“What ’empathy’ is Harry showing his family as he constantly trashes them in public?,” Morgan replied. “It’s grotesquely unfair (they can’t answer back) outrageously hypocritical, and he’s making millions from doing it. THAT’S appalling.”

He also replied to a headline by British newspaper The Daily Mail, which read: “Harry says royals forcing him to go to Nepal and constant jet-setting became ‘hectic to the point of exhaustion.'”

The television personality then accused Prince Harry of embarking on a “victimhood tour”.

“Oh FFS,” he began. “Is there no end to Prince Privacy’s victimhood tour?
Constantly abusing his family, knowing they can’t respond, is so pathetic & cowardly. Man up, Harry – and shut up.”

Newsweek has contacted the Archewell Foundation for comment.

Morgan’s comments come after Prince Harry said the media coverage of his relationship triggered childhood trauma of his mother, Princess Diana.

“I thought my family would help but every single ask, request, warning, whatever it is, got met with total silence or total neglect,” the Duke of Sussex said, in the documentary. “We spent four years trying to make it work. We did everything that we possibly could to stay there and carry on doing the role and doing the job, but Meghan was struggling.”

He went on to explain how constantly being followed and photographed wherever he went reminded him of his mother.

“It makes me angry,” he said. “It takes me back to what happened to my mum and what I experienced when I was a kid.”

Opening up on the impact losing his mother had on him at such a young age, the Duke of Sussex said he was “willing to take drugs” to deal with his feelings.

The docuseries sees Prince Harry and Winfrey talk openly about mental health and their own struggles.

The Me You Can’t See is available now on Apple TV.
